Police Say Man Robbed At Least 3 Churches

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.,None — Police arrested a man who they said broke into at least three south metro churches, and may have robbed other churches in North Georgia.

Joseph Michael Robinson, 24, was charged with two counts of burglary by Peachtree City Police, but a spokeswoman said Robinson would also likely face charges in Fayette and Coweta counties.

Police said Robinson broke into St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Peachtree City Christian Church, forced his way into offices and stole electronics, cash, computers and musical instruments.

Peachtree City police then learned of similar burglaries at Christs Church at Whitewater in Fayette County and Community Christian Church in Coweta County.

The joint investigation led to warrants for Robinson. Police said when they entered Robinson's home they found electronics and cash, as well as items that belonged to another church in north Georgia.

Anyone with information about the church robberies was asked to call the Peachtree City Criminal Investigation Division at 770-631-2510.
