Police: Cobb Woman Made Up Park Attack Tale

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Marietta woman who initially told police that she had been attacked while she was walking on the trail in Harrison Park has now confessed to making up the tale, Cobb police said.

Tarrah Lynn Connon, 32, is charged with the falsely reporting a crime.

Investigators said they followed up on information that Connon had provided and later determined that the information was not consistent with what they uncovered.

As a result of the alleged attack, Connon was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and later released in good condition.

Several Cobb County schools were locked down Thursday while authorities conducted their investigation.

Connon is currently being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
