Paulding Co. man wins $225K with free Fantasy 5 ticket

ATLANTA — One Paulding County man has won a jackpot prize with a free Fantasy 5 Quik Pik ticket. Thomas Renfroe matched all five winning numbers from the Aug. 6 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $225,640 jackpot prize.

Renfroe received his free Quik Pik ticket from a previous Fantasy 5 drawing.

He received his winning ticket from Ingles #0089, 270 Merchants Square, Dallas.

Winning numbers from the Aug. 6 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 6-9-13-26-34.

“I didn’t panic. I feel wonderful,” said Renfroe, 77.

The lucky winner has no immediate plans for his windfall.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
