Our News Department offers one of the nation's finest and most competitive internships in the country. Interns have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the newsroom and what it’s like to work in a top 10 market. We seek students who are dedicated, willing and eager to learn about the television news business. We accept a maximum of eight interns for news, one weather intern and one sports intern. Additionally, we have one research-based investigative intern position. We currently do not have any internships available for production. All interns will receive a $25 dollar weekly stipend. All applications, regardless of whether the position is for news, sports, weather or investigative, need to mailed to Patti DiVincenzo. The mailing instructions and requirements are below.
News Internship Requirements
-A minimum of 20 hours a week
-Shifts include script and desk duties
-News interns are expected to leave with a resume reel
-News interns will participate in a half-hour intern newscast
-Must be a college Junior, Senior or Grad Student
-Must receive course credit from a college or university
-Successful completion of a background check
Investigative Internship Requirements
-A minimum of 20 hours a week
-Must be a college Junior, Senior or Grad Student
-Must receive course credit from a college or university
-Successful completion of a background check
-The Investigative intern must be an excellent researcher
-Investigative intern reports to Jodie Fleischer
Sports Internship Requirements
-A minimum of 20 hours a week
-Weekend and night shifts are highly likely
-Must be a college Junior, Senior or Grad Student
-Must receive course credit from a college or university
-Successful completion of a background check
-Intern will report to Sports Director Zach Klein
Weather Internship Requirements
-A minimum of 20 hours a week
-Hours will be determined by managers in weather department
-Must be a college Junior, Senior or Grad Student
-Must receive course credit from a college or university
-Successful completion of a background check
-Intern will report to Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns
Deadlines
Spring semester (January-May): must apply by November 1st.
Summer semester (May-August): must apply by March 1st.
Fall semester (August-December): must apply by July 1st.

Application Requirements
-Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
-We will not accept applications dropped off at the station. They MUST be mailed to the station.
-If a professor wants to send in a recommendation separately, please make sure they do it by the deadline.
-If all required documents are not received by the deadline, applications will not be considered.
