ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. —

A Conyers fast food restaurant was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday morning, police said.

A young man entered a Zaxby’s restaurant on Sigman Road around 7:15 a.m., according to the Conyers Police Department. The man snuck in through the back door and ambushed two employees before the store opened, Conyers police Cpt. Scott Freeman said.

A Zaxby’s employee was helping a delivery man unload a delivery truck when the gunman approached, Freeman said. Surveillance video showed the man pointing a semi automatic hand gun at one of the workers by a stack of boxes.

Police did not say whether any money was taken, but they said the gunman fled on foot toward a Pizza Hut.

Freeman said the armed man managed to get away, but officers hope a unique accessory will help someone spot him. He was wearing all dark clothing and a bright multi-colored backpack.
