Job Description:

The content producer reports to Channel 2’s director of creative services and is supervised and scheduled by the Web content manager of wsbtv.com, theInternet component operated by WSB-TV/Channel 2, WSB-TV.

This job includes the following responsibilities: Producing the site’s news content so that it remains current, accurate and fresh. Developing strategies that build both audience levels and revenue opportunities. Working in conjunction with WSB-TV Sales management and staff to conceive, write and produce revenue-generating elements for the site. Other duties as assigned.

This position calls for a seasoned, news-savvy, competitive content producer capable of producing all aspects of Channel 2’s web site. The ideal candidate assumes partnership and pride in the web site and becomes a station champion for its success and growth.

The job demands the following skills: First and foremost, solid news editorial instincts and writing skills backed by experience. Accuracy and consistency. Deadline-oriented, organized, multi-tasking work habits. Fast reactions to breaking news that demands an “on call” flexible schedule based around breaking news and coverage. Customer Service-oriented and skilled in working across department lines. Demonstrated ability to plan, conceptualize and implement Web coverage that includes a broad range of elements for users, including video, slide shows, polls, and multimedia packages. A command of HTML code, Microsoft Word, AP style and the PC environment. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and other multimedia software. Proven ability to work with video, images and editorial content from our news department and to repurpose the materials for online use. Education and Experience Required:

B.A. or B.S. degree with 3+ years of related journalistic experience in either web content or in television broadcasting or print. Essential Physical Functions:
