WSBTV.Com Helps Catch 'Dancing Burglar' Suspect

Video of a 'Dancing Burglar' on wsbtv.com helped police find their man.

On Friday wsbtv.com posted video of the 'Dancing Burglar' caught on surveillance cameras before he broke into a Gwinnett County business.

Rockdale County Sheriff's Office investigator Darren Benedict viewed the video on the web site Friday night.

He recognized the truck in the video as the same truck that was involved in a chase and crash with Rockdale County deputies earlier in the week.

Officers were trying to stop Stephen Ray Edwards, 40, on suspicion of burglary.

After he crashed his truck into a patrol car during the chase he was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers, felony obstruction of law enforcement officers, driving on a suspended license and reckless driving.

Edwards is also facing burglary charges in connection with a break-in at Snapper Pro Lawn Inc. at 915 Flat Shoals Road.

Now that police have identified Edwards as the suspected 'Dancing Burglar' he was also interviewed by police from Cobb County, Gwinnett County and Alpharetta.
