Woman Escapes Barricaded Rape Suspect

ATLANTA —

A four hour standoff ended with a rape suspect in custody on Sunday. Officers said the victim made a daring escape to alert police.

The suspect, Michael Rudolph Perry, 29, turned himself in after police demands shortly before 10:30 a.m, authorities said.

Channel 2's Pam Martin was at the scene, where a SWAT team and hostage negotiator were on hand.

Police searched the house on 2409 Ozark Trail, which they said is Perry's residence, and found two rifles and two shotguns. No shots were fired.

After the rape at Perry's home, the woman escaped and alerted police, officers said.
