Gwinnett County Police say they arrested a man and a woman conducting a nude photo shoot next to a local church.

Investigators told Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh the woman wanted the photos to help obtain a job as an exotic dancer.

Police said when officers spotted the pair they were working in a vacant lot right next to a church on Stone Mountain Highway.

Police said the woman told them she was making a portfolio to show to potential employers.

The lot is tucked away off the highway and has rolling hills and giant rocks.

Police said Natasha Smith and Corey Lightfoot thought it a good location for a photo shoot.

Officers on patrol first spotted the pair during the afternoon of Nov. 5. They said at that point, Smith was posing in swimsuits.

"Telling them the bikinis and the swimsuits were odd, but OK, and actually left them there," Cpl. Jake Smith told Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh.

Officers also spotted Smith's 2-year-old son, who they said was hiding behind a boulder. But, after questioning the pair the officers moved on.

About an hour later, a security alarm at the church right next door cut the rest of the photo shoot short.

When officers returned they said Smith was naked.

"The female was actually nude at the time and she was being photographed by the male," Cpl. Smith said.

According to the police report, Natasha Smith told the officers she was compiling the photos to present to potential employers.

Smith told police she took her child home before posing for the nude pictures.

"When they returned, the child was not there, however, because the child was there the first time, they checked the camera," Cpl. Smith said.

Kavanaugh went to the Snellville address listed for Natasha Smith to ask her about the photo shoot. No one was home.

Police charged Natasha Smith and Lightfoot with public indecency and criminal trespassing.

Both have bonded out of jail.

Police said they have returned the camera, but are keeping photos as evidence.
