Valet-Parked Lamborghini Disappears From Atlanta Hotel

An Atlanta hotel guest told Channel 2 Action News consumer investigator Jim Strickland that his $284,000 dream car disappeared from a Buckhead hotel where he was staying.

SLIDESHOW: Valet-Parked Lamborghini Disappears From Atlanta Hotel Eric Vargosko said he learned that his car was missing from a valet lot at the Intercontinental Hotel when it came time to check out.

“They looked for the car for about an hour, and the manager told me the car was missing -- they did not have the car,” Vargosko said.

Vargosko said his 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, one of only two brought in the United States, was recovered a month later with significant damage to the vehicle – damage Vargosko said wasn’t on the vehicle when he initially handed over the keys.

Vargosko contacted Strickland because he said the hotel hasn’t provided him with any satisfaction.

Strickland obtained a police report that stated that a hotel video camera caught seven men at 3:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning getting out of an SUV. The report also stated that the camera caught a hotel valet handing two of the men keys to the Lamborghini.

When Strickland went to the hotel to get answers, a guy at the hotel door refused to discuss the matter. The hotel chain’s Atlanta headquarters also refused comment.

Police declined comment and wouldn’t release the video to Channel 2 Action News because the investigation is still ongoing.

Meantime, Vargosko said he is considering his legal options in what has turned out to be a two-month-long ordeal. Next time he visits Atlanta, Vargosko said he won't be staying at the Intercontinental.

“I did nothing wrong... and to be forced into this position now to have to hire an attorney, it just seems wrong,” said Vargosko.
