GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. —

Channel 2 Action News has learned there has been a major break in the investigation into three armed robberies at Gwinnett County businesses.

Police have identified three suspects, including two former Army national guardsmen, one of whom has a previous murder charge.

Disturbing surveillance video showed a Snellville Dollar General store manager being held up in a December robbery. The victim, who was forced to the ground at gunpoint, was hospitalized as a result. Police said the thieves also attacked an elderly woman who was shopping at the store.

A week later, a Lawrenceville Dollar General store was also robbed. Police said one robber pretended to be a customer and bought an item before two accomplices stepped in.

“It’s too scary for people who work in retail stores. It is very scary for workers, you know,” store manager Syed Iqbal told Channel 2 Action News at the time.

Robbery surveillance Lawrenceville police detectives said the men responsible for the armed robberies are Sean Foster, Jemelle Francis and Menshack Nyepah. Francis and Nyepah are former National Guardsmen accused of robbing a Georgia’s Own Credit Union bank in Conyers just before Christmas last year.

Nyepah is also accused in the murder of a DeKalb County father, Anthony Carter, in May 2010. Somehow Nyepah was out on bond when police said he and the other two suspects pulled off these other armed robberies.

The three men were being held at a Rockdale County jail.
