TRAFFIC ALERT: Weekend Delays On I-285

ATLANTA —

The Georgia Department of Transportation said drivers can expect heavy delays on I-285 westbound beginning at Roswell Road over the weekend. Officials are closing three lanes beginning at 9 p.m. and ending Monday morning.

WHEN: Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and working continuously through 5 a.m. Monday, May 18, weather permitting.

WHERE: Three outside westbound lanes of I-285 beginning at Roswell Road (Exit 25) for three miles until just past the Heards Road Bridge at Milepost 22.81.

Georgia DOT maintenance crews will close the three lanes on I-285 westbound beginning at Roswell Road for bridge repairs for the weekend. The two inside lanes will remain open. The eastbound lanes will not be affected.

Motorists will still be able to access entrance ramps.

All lanes will be opened by 5 a.m. on Monday, according to the Georgia DOT. Motorists are encouraged seek alternate routes or allow additional travel time through the work area. Heavy delays are expected.
