Piece Of Bridge Falls On I-20

COBB COUNTY, Ga. —

Traffic on Interstate 20 eastbound in Cobb County was severely backed up Tuesday morning after a piece of a bridge fell on the interstate.

Officials with the Georgia Department of Transportation confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a 2-foot-wide section of an overpass fell onto I-20 near Six Flags early Tuesday.

Work crews were at the scene and were attempting to repair the bridge.

Only one right lane of I-20 east was open at 7 a.m. and traffic was backed up before Lee Road. All lanes have since been reopened.

No injuries were reported.
