Flood Damage Closes Highway 78 In Gwinnett

GWINNETT COUNTY —

Flood damage shut down highway 78 westbound in Gwinnett County during the Monday morning rush hour.

All the westbound lanes were closed between Hewatt Road, Oakland Park Boulevard and Killian Hill Road, according to Channel 2 Action News traffic reporter Doug Turnbull.

"If you're starting in Snellville, you're best bet is to take Scenic Highway to Rockbridge back to 78," said Turnbull.

Some sizable delays were building by 6:30 a.m., according to Channel 2 Action News traffic reporter Capt. Herb Emory who was over the scene in News Chopper 2.
