FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. —

A Cumming mother accused of leaving her 2-year-old son home alone was out drinking at a sports bar, according to an arrest report obtained by Channel 2's Mike Petchenik.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office investigators have charged Stephanie Davis, 21, with child endangerment and reckless conduct after finding her son locked in a room of their Cumming home with no food or water.

"I think they should put her under the jail and throw away the key," neighbor Wylina Wallace said. "She should never get that child back."

Wallace told Petchenik she saw deputies arrive to Davis' Boxer Lane home Friday afternoon. According to sheriff's officials, deputies forced their way into the home after hearing the boy crying. When Petchenik went to the home Tuesday he could see children's toys strewn across the lawn, trash bags piled up on the front porch of the home.

"The child was dressed in a dirty white T-shirt," Forsyth Sheriff Ted Paxton said in a press release. "He had removed his diaper himself and it was on the floor, filled to overflowing with feces. The child had feces on his hands, feet and legs."

According to investigators, Davis called her mother from the Roswell City Jail early Friday morning and told her the boy was being watched. Her mother, in turn, called Forsyth County to do a welfare check on the child.

Petchenik obtained a Roswell police report that said Davis was clocked going 87 mph in a 65 mph zone near Ga. 400 and Holcomb Bridge Road about 3 a.m. Friday morning.

"When he pulled her over there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle," Officer Lisa Holland said.

The report said Davis admitted she'd been drinking beer at a sports bar. When officers took her blood alcohol level at the jail, it was 0.18, more than twice the legal driving limit.

Fulton County jail records indicate Davis remained there Tuesday afternoon under a $2,500 bond. Forsyth investigators said the 2-year-old boy was in DFACS custody.

"I understand you want to go out and party," Wallace said. "Get a babysitter."
