Teen Surrenders After Crash Kills Friend

 

ALPHARETTA, Ga. —

The teenager police said crashed his pickup truck last week, killing his friend and seriously injuring his brother, surrendered at the Alpharetta jail early Tuesday morning.

"Praise Jesus," was all Andrew London said to Channel 2 Action News reporter Ryan Young, as the 18-year-old walked into the jail about 1 a.m.

London is charged with DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, speeding and underage possession and consumption of alcohol.

Adams Stephens, 18, died in the wreck on New Providence Road in Milton on May 12. London's 16-year-old brother remains hospitalized.

Police said they found beer cans in London's truck and they believe the teens were drinking before the crash.

"We're investigating the events leading up to the crash," said Capt. Shawn McCarthy of the Milton Police Department. "Where they were at, how they were able to get alcohol."

Police said London was driving 80 mph at the time of the crash.
