ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. —

A teen who killed a bystander during a video game store robbery last fall has been sentenced to life in prison.

Before the case could go to the jury, Markus Seymore unexpectedly pleaded guilty to a charge of murder Tuesday. On Nov. 11, Seymore shot and killed 40-year-old father of two Adrian Snow at a Gamestop store in Conyers, police said. Seymore was 17 at the time of his arrest.

Police said Seymore, Giovannte Maddox and Tron Hill tied up a lone clerk, rounded up cash and stole games and Xboxs at the popular store around lunchtime. When Snow walked in on the robbery, he was shot twice and died en route to Grady Hospital.

“It is a very strong possibility that he did, in fact, save the clerk’s live,” store manager Al Nesbit told Channel 2’s Tom Regan at the time.

Maddox and Hill were arrested that day, but Seymore eluded police for a night. After posting up outside a manhole for several hours, police concluded that there wasn't a third shooter. The next morning, rush-hour drivers spotted Seymore crawling out of a drain pipe and called 911.
