Teen Charged After Claiming She Was Kidnapped

A police source tells Channel 2 Action News that a DeKalb county teenager who claimed she was kidnapped actually ran away.

Sixteen year old Yemonia Yasin has been arrested and charged with making a false report.

Investigators say the teen concocted the kidnapping story with a friend.

After her family and friends spent yesterday passing out flyers police found Yasin unharmed last night at a south DeKalb apartment complex.

Yasin's mother said this is not the first time she's run away.

The teen is now being held by juvenile authorities.
