DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —

Stormy weather on Sunday caused some in metro Atlanta to lose power and could be to blame for a tractor-trailer crash near Spaghetti Junction.

Driving rain may have caused two tractor-trailers heading north on Interstate 85 to crash and overturn in DeKalb County late Sunday night.

Police shut down northbound lanes of I-85 for several hours, backing up traffic for miles. Two people were injured in the crash.

The expressway reopened early Monday morning.

In Clayton County, a thunderstorm knocked down a tree on Delta Drive in Riverdale.

“It was like a big bang and it shook the trees and the wires,” a resident said.

The tree snapped the power lines, leaving residents in the dark for hours.

Crews got power flowing again five hours later. There was no property damage or injuries.
