School Counselor Arrested On Sex Charge

COBB COUNTY, Ga. —

A Cobb County high school guidance counselor is accused of inappropriate behavior with a student.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Tony Thomas spoke with one of the alleged victims, who said she was summoned to Frank Robinson’s office and stunned by what happened next.

“He closed his door and then he basically felt me up in his office,” the 17-year-old student said.

The alleged incident occurred at Lassiter High School, where the student said Robinson serves as a guidance counselor and basketball coach.

“The last thing he said to me was ‘just don't say anything … keep your mouth shut, and I just walked away,” the student said.

The high school senior said she ultimately told her father and school administrators.

Robinson turned himself in Saturday on one count of sexual battery and bonded out a short time later -- a fact that upsets the teen’s father.

“My first reaction was, I want to be with this guy in a cage, just he and I,” the student’s father said. “Why do you do that? There are a lot of women outside.”

Both Cobb County police and the teen are asking for any other potential victims to come forward, even though they might be scared or embarrassed.

“If he has done this and you've gone through this, you should come out with this, like you shouldn't hold it in,” the student said.

A school district representative told Channel 2 Action News that Robinson has resigned his position in lieu of termination.

Channel 2 Action News tried to reach Robinson to get his side of the story, but he has not returned any phone calls.
