Realtor Murders Suspect Awaits His Fate

BRUNSWICK, Ga —

A Glynn County jury is into its second day of deliberations as it decides whether to recommend the death penalty for convicted Cobb County murder suspect Stacy Ian Humphreys.

Saturday morning, jurors told Judge Dorothy Robinson that they had resolved some issues in their deliberations, but not others. The judge ordered them to continue trying to reach a decision regarding Humphreys, who was convicted Tuesday of the murders of two Cobb County realtors, Cyndi Williams and Lori Brown.

In order for Humphreys to be sentenced to death, jurors must vote unanimously for death. The law says anything less than a unanimous decision means Humphreys' life must be spared.

The trial was moved to Glynn County in southeast Georgia after the judge ruled that pretrial publicity in metro Atlanta would make it impossible for Humphreys to get a fair trial.

Channel 2's Ross Cavitt has covered the case since it began. He is in Brunswick to update us on the jury's decision, when it is is reached.
