COBB COUNTY, Ga. —
Police said cashier Angelica Robledo De La Rosa, 32, of Marietta, was in a pickup truck with a male companion in front of the Brito grocery store where she worked on South Cobb Drive.

Officials said the woman and her companion were confronted by an armed man, who fired several shots at De La Rosa as she exited the truck. De La Rosa was wounded several times and died from her injuries Tuesday night at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Humberto Soza, the general manager of the Brito Supermarket chain, said, "There were customers around. Fortunately no one else was shot.”

Police said her male companion, who has not been identified, tried to escape in his truck when the shooting began. He slammed into a few cars in the parking lot in his rush to get away, police said. He suffered minor injuries.

Through the course of the investigation, police said, it became apparent to investigators that the relationship between De La Rosa and the armed man was a stalking situation.
Investigators concluded that the man attempted to pursue a relationship with the victim; however, she continually denied his requests. A series of disturbing incidents, over an extended period of time, were initiated by the man toward the victim but they were never reported to authorities, police said.

Investigators were able to identify their suspect as 46-year-old Armando Soto.
Police received information that he had fled the area. Investigators contacted agencies along the Interstate 10 corridor and provided lookout information regarding Soto and his vehicle. Officers in Gautier, Miss., located the white van they believe the suspect was traveling in and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect was driving the vehicle and he was taken into custody.
Soto has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. Soto is currently being held in the Pascagoula, Miss., Adult Detention Center.
