JONESBORO, Ga. —
Jonesboro Police Chief Franklin Allen told Channel 2's Tony Thomas they have identified two people of interests in the death of Rochelle Thomas.
He said charges are likely eminent in the next few hours.
Allen said one of the people being questioned is suspected Thomas' actual slaying, while the other person, who is a relative of the other person of interest, is suspected of cleaning up the crime scene.
In an odd twist, Allen said they had to rush one of the suspects to the hospital at about 5 p.m. Friday for an unspecified medical condition.
Police said the suspected killer is already in jail and was arrested on unrelated charges before he even became a suspect in Thomas' death.
"Right now, I anticipate within the next 12 to 48 hours arrest warrants will be obtained for one or two of these individuals. We are still in the process of tying this up, but I think we're going to have some resolve to this," Allen said.
