ATLANTA —

Keith Lipscomb says he is a repo man, repossessing vehicles from people who stopped making payments.

Police say Lipscomb is a car thief who used a tow truck and phony repossession papers to steal those cars.

On Sunday, police arrested Lipscomb on auto theft charges. A judge set his bond at $100,000 during a court appearance on Monday.

Lipscomb towed away Ericka King's Cadillac Escalade back in May. Lipscomb told a police officer called to the scene that he was a repo man and showed the officer paperwork that seemed to back up his claim. The officer allowed Lipscomb to take the car.

But month's later, King said she got a call from her finance company. They wanted several back payments or the SUV. A company official said they never ordered the Escalade repossessed.

That's when King called police and reported her SUV stolen.

They called in Lipscomb for questioning and then arrested him on auto theft charges.

The Escalade is still missing.
