Police Officer Injured During Carjacking

ATLANTA —

An off-duty Atlanta police officer was injured Thursday morning during a carjacking.

Police told Channel 2’s Ryan Young the unidentified officer was struck in the head during the attack at the Magnolia Park apartments in northwest Atlanta.

The officer’s truck was found about four blocks away.

Shots were fired during the carjacking, but there’s no word yet on who fired a gun.

The injured officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
