Police: Lunchtime Bandit Captured

 

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. —

The man police dubbed the Lunchtime Bandit is in the Cobb County jail Saturday.

Police arrested Stephen James Bowen, 35, Friday night at the Camden River Apartments in Johns Creek.

Bowen is suspected of robbing at least 10 banks in Cobb, Dunwoody, Roswell, Sandy Springs, and Atlanta, according to investigators.

Police said Bowen is the man captured on bank security cameras with his face partially obscured by a baseball cap. The robber would hand a note to a teller, then once he had the money, run out to a Chevy SUV.

An address in the 900 block of Landrum Road in Alpharetta is listed as Bowen's home address on his arrest report. He told police he works for a construction company.
