ATHENS, Ga. —
Police are looking for a Walton County man who vanished after leaving church Sunday afternoon.
Charles Parker, 25, was last seen in his black 2010 Chrysler 300.
Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations said they recovered that car Tuesday night, but there was no sign of Parker.
Wednesday, as the GBI processed the car, his family spread out covering Athens with flyers.
"All we can do is wait to see what they find. We want them to work expeditiously we're doing what we can to put fliers out," said Patrick Parker, Charles' brother.
Investigators said Parker's car was found in Athens at the corner of Hoyt Street and College Ave.
"I'm just trying to be hopeful," Charles' wife, Kenisha Parker, said.
"I'm missing his face, missing seeing him just being at home," she said.
The car was found parked on the side of the road and did not have any visible damage.
Parker's brother said the discovery gives him hope.
"The condition that it was found in makes me more hopeful that my brother is somewhere breathing," Patrick Parker said. "I don't think someone had a real intent to hurt him."
GBI Special Agent Jim Fullington said Parker's car wasn't the only evidence recovered in Athens.
He told Channel 2's Carl Willis that Parker's wallet was found "several lots over from where the car was found."
Monday, they found Parker's duffle bag with some of his clothing.
Parker works as an assistant branch manager for Bank of America in Monroe.
His family said he was heading to Athens to take a look at a piece of land for a potential business deal.
Police said he may have been looking into buying a chicken farm.
His family has set up an email account in hopes that someone will contact them with a lead.
Anyone with information on Parker's whereabouts is asked to call Monroe Police at 678-858-1203.
