ATLANTA —

A burglary suspect is in custody after a chase, but police continued to look for another Friday morning.

Police chased the two suspected burglars after neighbors reported someone breaking into homes in south Fulton County. A massive search overnight unfolded near Butner Road and Camp Creek Parkway.

“Luckily we were right in the area,” said Sgt. Scott McBride of the Fulton County Police Department. Early Friday morning, police arrested one man who officials said is a suspect in a string of break-ins in south Fulton County.

“A call came in as a suspicious person. Then it turned into a burglary call,” said McBride.

A police chopper followed a Chevy Impala to Palmetto and Butner Roads in southwest Atlanta where the suspects jumped out and ran.

“The suspects ran into the woods,” said McBride.

Officers used a tracking dog to catch one person.

McBride said police have already recovered some stolen property. “A television was found in the car,” said McBride.

Detectives believe they may be able to tie the suspects to a number of burglaries around the Camp Creek Parkway area.

Police continue to interview the suspect in the hopes he will lead them to his partner.
