Police: Barricaded Man Jumped From Third-Floor Window

DUNWOODY, Ga. —

An apartment complex in Dunwoody is no longer on lockdown after a man who had barricaded himself jumped out of a third-floor window, police said.

Police said 37-year-old Earnest Dennis was involved in a domestic violence situation at the Two Blocks apartments on Sunday night.

At some point after police arrived, he ran back into the apartment and barricaded himself inside.

SWAT team members arrived on the scene at about 2 a.m. Monday and were trying to negotiate with Dennis to get him to surrender.

Just before 7 a.m., SWAT officers broke through the front door and discovered Dennis had jumped out of a third-floor window.

Police said negotiators did make contact with Dennis and he told them what he’d done and said he was injured.

Officials continue to search for him. He was last seen wearing a baggy, white T-shirt and lime green shorts.
