FULTON COUNTY, Ga. —

Officials said a crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 in south Fulton County led to a driver getting hit in the northbound lanes Tuesday morning.

Officials said a tractor-trailer was involved in a crash on I-85 southbound just south of the airport near Flat Shoals Road just after 5:30 a.m. After the crash, the tractor-trailer caught fire.

A driver in the northbound lanes stopped and got out of his vehicle to try to help the victims on the southbound side, when he was struck by a vehicle.

A helicopter ambulance was called in to take the pedestrian to Atlanta Medical Center. There is no word on his condition.

All lanes were blocked for almost an hour. All lanes have since been reopened.
