Pair Held Following Police Chase Through Atlanta

ATLANTA —

A car and foot pursuit ended Tuesday when police arrested two suspects who led them on a chase through southside Atlanta streets, authorities said.

The suspects, whose identities were pending, were taken into custody after officers found them at an apartment complex, where they had ditched the car they had been traveling in.

No injuries were reported during the pursuit, which began around 4 p.m. at Metropolitan Parkway and Northside Drive.

The chase continued on Interstate 85/75 before the white Honda Accord exited the freeway and continued driving on residential streets.

Police said an officer had tried to pull the car over for suspicious behavior but the driver refused to stop. After the pursuit, police said the car had been stolen.

The chase ended when the suspects parked the car at the closed gate of an apartment complex, located at Empire Drive and Mount Zion Road, and ran from the area.

Officers later found the suspects at the complex.
