Atlanta police are trying to catch a man who's accused of sexually assaulting more than half a dozen women in the Buckhead area.

Channel 2's Dave Huddleston showed a newly released sketch of the suspect to women in the Lindbergh area, where the latest attack happened.

The women all told Huddleston they hadn't heard about the attack, but were shocked to find out the attacks had been going on for more than a year, according to police.

"I'll definitely keep an eye out for that face," a woman named Denise told Huddleston after seeing the composite sketch of the assailant.

"The victim woke to the suspect leaning over the bed next to her. She yelled for him to leave and he did, he went out the window," Lt. Janet Brady of the Atlanta Police Department said.

Police said the first assault and robbery was in 2009 off Peachtree Park Drive.

Huddleston went to an apartment complex in the area.

The manager of the complex told Huddleston they know about the assaults and have notified residents.

But several women who live at the complex told Huddleston they didn't know about the attacks.

Police said they are trying to get the word out to everyone in the area, including giving copies of the sketch to apartment managers.

"They may want to put out a flyer to their residences to be cautious, be on the lookout, if you see something strange, call 911," Capt. Van Hobbs of the Atlanta Police Department said.

"Even though I live on a second-level apartment, I keep my windows and doors locked. And even if I'm concerned about something, I'll put my couch in front of my door," Denise told Huddleston.

Police describe the attacker as being between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build with a raspy voice.

They say in all of the attacks, he was wearing a gray hoodie and dark pants.
