The annual Peach Drop held at Underground Atlanta averages an estimated 100,000 people--but officials are expecting as many at 125,000 this year.

Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington is aware of the possible traffic issues and said, "We have deployed our police officers in stratigic areas throughout the city, especially in the Midtown, Downtown and Buckhead areas.

The rundown of events this weekend includes the Peach Bowl parade on Peachtree Street beginning at 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. Some downtown streets will be closed for the event.

The Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl will be held that evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgia Dome. At that same time, a concert will be held at Philips Arena.

On New Year's Eve night, the Peach Drop will be going on at Underground Atlanta. And beginning at 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening--a Sugar Bowl parade.

Officials are urging everyone that plans to come downtown over the weekend to leave their cars at home and to take MARTA. MARTA officials have said they will be running 24 hours on New Year's Eve, with trains running every 15 minutes until 2:00 a.m. and after 2 they will run every 20 minutes.
