Motorcycle Officer Injured In Crash

Police said an Atlanta police officer, driving a motorcycle, was injured in an accident with another vehicle.

It happened Sunday morning near the Midtown MARTA station located at 41 10th Street in northeast Atlanta.

Police said the officer will be OK and was sent to the hospital for observation.

Channel 2 News reporter Mike Petchenik interviewed the driver of a BMW involved in the accident. That driver told Petchenik that the officer rear-ended him and then fell onto the pavement.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, police said.
