Missing Family Located

ATLANTA —

A Coweta County woman says authorities found her husband and their two children in Alabama after she feared the worst Monday night.

Authorities say Danny Davis, apparently suffering from emotional problems, left with the children last night.

He was given a ticket for speeding in Alabama and a short time later was arrested for fleeing the scene of an accident.

It all started Monday when the children's mother reported the three missing about 6:30 p.m. when she returned home from shopping and found the family dog had been shot to death.

The Coweta County Sheriff's Department issued a nationwide alert.

Officials say 42-year-old Danny Davis drove off with his children -- eleven-year-old Danielle and nine-year-old Parker. The red 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck with Georgia tag BQ21KB was spotted in Alabama.

Authorities say Parker Davis is autistic.

Davis' cell phone was found inside the house as were the children's jackets.

Sergeant John Kennedy says Davis -- a former employee of Delta Air Lines -- has family in Texas and was stopped for speeding in Alabama, between Anniston and Birmingham, after 12:30 a.m. today.

But Kennedy says at the time Alabama authorities did NOT know Georgia investigators were looking for Davis. The accident apparently happened later.

Anne Marie Davis is now back home with her children. Danny Davis is expected to bond out of an Alabama jail today on the misdemeanor traffic violations.

Coweta County says they will not be filing any charges against Danny Davis. They say they do expect him to get help for his problems.
