GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. —
Police said the boy was found at the home of a family acquaintance. Officials said they are still investigating.
No further details were released.
Police said Mario Taddeo disappeared from Martin Forest Lane near Lawrenceville on Monday afternoon.
Officials originally said Taddeo went to a neighborhood friend’s house after school on Monday, but never returned home.
Officers went door to door in his Gwinnett County neighborhood overnight in an attempt to find him.
His mother, Gabriella Taddeo, said, “He’s just a miracle. We want our miracle baby back, please. God gave him to me. I didn’t think (anybody) could take him away from me.”
She went on to say that her son was very responsible. She said, "He would come home."
Mario's 12-year-old brother, Gian Luca Taddeo, told Channel 2 Action News reporter Mike Petchenik that his brother didn't have a key to the house, but said he typically hung out with a neighbor and waited for for his older brother to get home to let him in the house.
Gian Luca said he went to the neighbor's home to get Mario, but was told he had already left.
Gian Luca said, "Mario is not the kind of kid who gets lost. He’s more of an adventurer person and he will keep track of where he goes.”
Police said the boy has relatives and family friends in Hall County and Gainesville.
