CONYERS, Ga. —
WSB-TV Would-Be Robber Shot, Killed By Victim Several people were in the parking lot of the Conyers Ingles store during the incident. Witnesses said two men tried to rob a man, not knowing that he was armed.
Resident Nathan Taylor said his friend, Ryan Moore, borrowed his car to get some orange juice at the Ingles on Salem Road. Moore had just gotten out of his car to head inside the store when he was approached by the two men, Rockdale County Sheriff Jeff Wigington said. Wigington said they tried to rob him, and one had a knife.

“He pulled a gun on them, shot one and the other ran,” Wigington told Channel 2’s Tony Thomas.
Wigington said investigators were still looking for the second man. Investigators marked evidence across the scene, including keys dropped in the grass.
Taylor said his friend pulled the trigger because he had to.
“He retaliated in self-defense. Good guy, never violent,” said Taylor.
Wigington said Moore’s story matches up with witness accounts.
