One of four men accused of kicking and beating a man outside a corner grocery store in southwest Atlanta will remain in jail.

Monday, a Fulton County judge denied a bond request for Christopher Cain, 18.

Cain is charged with attacking Brandon White, 20, on a sidewalk in early February.

A video of the beating went viral on the Internet and shows White's attackers hitting him with scrap tires and kicking him while uttering anti-gay slurs.

"The slurs were thrown. And being that I'm a homosexual male, and they're straight, I would consider that a hate crime," White said.

White spoke with Channel 2's Tom Regan as he left court following the bond hearing. He said he was relieved Cain was denied bond.

"The court is doing a very good job in helping me get my justice," White said.

White also said he did not know any of his attackers and denied an early claim by one of the men that White made provocative comments prior to the assault.

"That is not true at all. I was going down the street and minding my own business. I didn't provoke anyone to do anything," White said.

Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News three men have been arrested in the attack and a fourth has been indicted by the Fulton County District Attorney.

White said he wants to get on with his life by returning to work and possibly enrolling in Georgia State University.
