Gwinnett County police arrested a woman they say was operating an unlicensed dental operation inside her mobile home in Norcross.
Police told Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh they received an anonymous tip about the operation that appeared to be a fully operational dentist office at the residence on Indian Trail Road.
Photos from Gwinnett County police show a dentist chair, sterilization equipment and several other tools, but police said 37-year-old Maria Ramirez is not a dentist.
"The occupant in the home basically admitted to the officer and that in fact she was running a dentistry office," said Gwinnett County police Cpl. Jake Smith.
Inside, officers also found medication, syringes, and dozens of teeth molds labeled with patients' names. Police said Serbin claimed to have previously worked in a Buford dental office as an assistant. Meanwhile, they are still investigating her home-based operation.
"We don't have any information right now to say how many clients she had or how much she was charging or anything like that but inside the home evidence of a pretty significant business being run," Smith said.
In Spanish, neighbor Leticia Serbin said she heard about a dental practice but was too scared to ever go.
Although Serbin said she did not see many people at Ramirez's home, she said friends informed her about visits conducted there.
As a result, police charged Ramirez with conducting dentistry without a license.
