DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. —
The woman who hit and killed a Douglasville teen getting off a school bus is now charged with her death.
Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office took 51-year-old Shirley Barker McManners into custody on Wednesday.
Brandy Hart, 17, was killed on Tuesday near Cedar Mountain Road and Dorris Road.
Investigators say McManners failed to stop despite the bus's flashing red lights and stop arm.
McManners is charged with vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and violation of the code section for the duty of a driver when meeting or overtaking a school bus.
Hart's mother told Channel Two's Erica Byfield she is not holding a grudge against McManners.
"I can say in my heart that I don't have anything against the driver that killed my child," said Mary Carolyn Hart-Springer.
The teen attended Douglas County High School and was in the chorus.

"It's hard, it's very, very hard, anything that is unexpected is very hard," said Hart's aunt, Vallaire Reid.
Hart's dream was to go to college and get a job in a field that would allow her to help children.
Hart-Springer told Byfield her daughter was very spiritual.
"Brandy knew God, yes she did, and she knew God. If she was here today, I believe Brandy would tell us to go on and live our life in Christ," she said.
Hart's funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10th at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton.
