DULUTH, Ga. —

Strong storms Wednesday afternoon downed trees and brought heavy rain through the Atlanta metro.

Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh went to a home on Fallbrook Drive after a tree fell on it, causing damage to the home.

Homeowner Rose Yim said she was in the basement when the tree toppled onto the house.

Yim said tree branches went through the attic of the home and into the master bedroom.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Around the corner on Fairway View Court, firefighters responded to a house fire that may have been sparked by a lightning strike.

Homeowner Eric Morris said he was home with his 2-year-old son at the time. He said he was playing video games when his son pointed at some flames and started yelling, "Hot, hot."

They made it out of the house and called the fire department. There is now word on how much damage was done to his home.
