COWETA COUNTY, Ga. —
Lanes were closed in both directions of Interstate 85 in Coweta County after a tractor-trailer caught fire Friday morning.
The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said the truck struck a deputy’s cruiser on southbound I-85 near mile marker 55.
The truck’s tires exploded and caught fire, setting fire to the rest of the truck.
All lanes north and southbound were shut down around 3 a.m., but reopened later in the day.
Hours after the crash, there were still pieces of the tractor-trailer on the interstate.
No one was injured in the crash.
