ATLANTA —
After weeks of unseasonably warm temperatures, Severe Weather Team 2 is forecasting a cold weekend. There could even be snow in the north Georgia mountains.
Temperatures were in the 30s on Thursday morning, and low temperatures will remain in that range for the next few days, Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Late Friday, there could be light snow in the uppermost counties.
“That cold air looks like enough to support snow Saturday morning as the moisture rolls in. It could be enough to stick to the grassy areas but won't last long,” Minton said.
For the rest of metro Atlanta, high temperatures will be in the mid-40s on Saturday and Sunday, Minton said. She expects it to be sunny and windy.
Minton said temperatures will return to the 50s next week.
