Gunman sought in house party shooting

Shooting
Police are still looking for a driver who left the scene of a double shooting that injured two people during a 16-year-old's birthday celebration.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. —

A birthday party in Stone Mountain ended with two people shot, including a 17-year-old girl.

At about 12:30 a.m., police swarmed a home on Arbor Hill Drive, described as a typically quiet neighborhood in DeKalb County.

So far, investigators have not released many details, but Channel 2's Erica Byfield spoke to a neighbor who said the double shooting happened at her 16-year-old son's birthday party. Investigators said a man and a girl were rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A young woman witnessed the chaotic aftermath from her window.

"As I was downstairs, I heard four quick shots. It was like, 'pow, pow, pow!' Then I ran upstairs to my room because I have an exact vantage point to see what's going on," Eunice Josiah said.

"There were two people that they wheeled out on the ambulance and there was a boy who had a shirt that was covered with blood and it looked like someone was shot really, really badly," she added.

She recalled seeing about five police cars, a fire marshal and several other safety workers responding at the scene.

Investigators have not yet released a motive or the name of a suspected shooter, but they are looking for the driver of a dark-colored car that left the area immediately after the shooting.
