Police are searching for robbers who hurt a Georgia Tech student near campus in northwest Atlanta.
Overnight, police said a Tech student was walking home near 10th and Tumlin Streets when two men pushed him to the ground and then pointed a gun at him.
Investigators said the suspects stole the victim's cellphone and wallet, and while he was on the ground they repeatedly kicked and punched him in the face.
Channel 2's Erica Byfield stopped by the victim's home Monday afternoon.
He told Byfield he did not want to speak on camera.
Earlier in the day, his roommates told Byfield the victim was walking around at about 2 a.m. because he needed to use the restroom and the plumbing at their home was not working.
On Monday afternoon, Byfield spotted a plumber's van outside the residence.
Thus far, the police have released few details about their investigation.
An APD spokesperson said the victim's father traced his son's cellphone to Clayton County.
Byfield went to the listed address and found a rundown restaurant called the Happy Palace.
A Morrow police captain told Byfield earlier in the day his officers responded to the location and handed over all of their findings to Atlanta police.
The police are said to be looking for two males, the first had a short haircut and flashed a gun. The second was wearing a dark hoodie.
The police are also searching for a 90s gold Toyota Corolla in connection with the robbery.
