Police say a man is in the hospital after an argument about a woman turned violent.

Channel 2's Aaron Diamant said two men were arguing before one of them fired a shot at the other outside a laundromat near a Family Dollar store in the 200 block of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard.

News Chopper 2 flew over the northwest Atlanta strip mall, where investigators were seen gathering evidence just before noon.

Witnesses said the victim, who was shot in the chest, was awake and alert before he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Diamant is trying to confirm the status of the suspect in the case.
