Police are trying to find the people behind a home invasion where the robbers tied up and stole from two Savannah College Art and Design students.

Channel 2's Ryan Young was there Wednesday morning as police scoured the area around the Spring House, a dorm for SCAD students, looking for clues.

Young talked to students who said they were surprised the robbers made it past dorm security.

"This is crazy, because, like, Spring House is pretty much a fortified thing. I could barely get in there some days and I go to school here. So for this to happen, that's just crazy," said SCAD student Michael Nash.

Students told Young they were shocked by the police presence Wednesday.

Around 6 a.m. two students said they heard a knock on the door and when they cracked the door a man pushed his way inside.

"One of the males was in the unit, then grabbed one of the victims, put him in choke hold, bound his hands and the proceeded to go ahead and steal some of the electronics," Lt. Jeff Cantin of the Atlanta Police Department said.

Police said the two men tied the two students up, a fact that students at SCAD can't believe.

"I'm shocked myself because I drive back and forth myself today the Spring House. I have friends there and they feel secure about the place," student Robert Hughes said.

"You have to have your ID to go anywhere, or a special key. It's pretty tight there," student Kelly Coates said.

SCAD sent Young a statement Wednesday, saying: "The safety and security of SCAD students, faculty and staff is of paramount importance to the university. SCAD employs a variety of vigorous security measures, including 24-hour on-site security guards and mandatory ID checks."

The Atlanta Police Department continues to investigate this incident.
