A busy Buckhead road has been reopened after a ruptured gas line prompted emergency crews to close it Sunday morning.

Channel 2’s Sophia Choi was at East Paces Ferry Road and Piedmont Road, where crews fixed the gas line shortly after noon.

Piedmont Road was shut down from Pharr Road to Peachtree Road for about an hour. Area businesses were also affected.

Drivers were detoured onto Pharr Road to Maple Drive to Peachtree Road.

Atlanta Gas Light officials said a two-inch gas line was leaking, but did not indicate what caused the leak.

Traffic appears to be back normal.
