A 16-year-old has been arrested in the rape of a Marietta woman.
The attack happened at an apartment complex on Franklin Road in the predawn hours Thursday. The victim, who requested anonymity, said she was asleep when the teen broke in through a window and raped her.
“I really just felt like I had to surrender,” the woman said.
Hours later, she left her apartment, spotted the suspect on her street again and called police.
“I’m still a little traumatized, but I feel a whole lot better about him being found,” she told Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt. “I really feel sorry for him actually, especially when I found out he’s only 16.”
The suspect was charged as an adult, but police are not releasing his identity. He faces at least six charges, including rape and aggravated assault.
