Rally held for stronger laws against sex trafficking

ATLANTA —

Hundreds of people rallied at the state Capitol for stronger laws against child sex trafficking Thursday.

Channel 2’s Linda Stouffer
caught up with volunteers from across metro Atlanta. The group wore purple scarves to show unity. They’re asking local lawmakers for legislation to create a victim help line and post more photos of traffickers and buyers.

“It’s the least we can do,” volunteer Marla Dillingham said.

Another woman said she escaped a trafficking nightmare at the age of 18.

“It is important for me to tell my story, so that the world know this happens, not only to me but continues to happen as we speak,” Keisha Head told Stouffer.

The group is also calling for continued funding for victim services.
